What is body butter?
Body butter is an extremely nourishing, thick and rich moisturizer, typically free of water. Its main ingredients are plant based butters such as shea butter, cocoa butter or mango butter, enriched with deeply conditioning oils like coconut oil, jojoba oil or argan oil. Body butter usually contains 60 to 80 percent pure fats, while a typical body lotion only contains around 3 to 10 percent, making body butter far more concentrated.
DID YOU KNOW?
Many brands dilute their body butters with water. We don’t, because once you add water it is not really a body butter anymore, it is just a lotion in disguise.

HOW TO USE OUR BODY BUTTER

Why is the skin often dry and sensitive?
Discover the Differences
About 1 in 3 people experience dry skin (xerosis cutis) at some point, and even more suffer from temporary sensitivity. The cause is often a disrupted skin barrier. Factors such as cold wind, heating, frequent hot showers, aging, or certain skin conditions (like eczema or psoriasis) worsen moisture loss. Sensitive, dry skin often shows redness, flakiness, itching, and feels tight or even painful.
Choosing the right care, specifically body butter for dry skin. At Nairobi Skincare, we have developed body butters specially formulated for sensitive skin to help restore and protect your skin’s natural balance.

Which ingredients are best in body butter for sensitive dry skin?
The success of a body butter for dry skin depends entirely on its ingredients. We have chosen ingredients that are restorative and non-irritating. According to dermatologists and scientific research, the following ingredients are ideal for sensitive, dry skin.
- Shea butter: Contains a unique blend of fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamins A, E, and F. It has anti-inflammatory properties and is ideal for eczema-prone skin.
- Cocoa butter: Rich in antioxidants with a high concentration of saturated fatty acids. Provides long-lasting protection and hydration, reduces flakiness.
- Mango butter: Soothes, restores, and nourishes without clogging pores. Excellent for people with allergies or very sensitive skin.
- Coconut oil: Deeply hydrates but can be comedogenic for some people (especially on the face). Best used on the body for non-acne-prone skin.
- Jojoba oil: Almost identical to natural skin sebum and well tolerated by nearly all skin types.
- Vitamin E: An antioxidant that protects against aging and environmental stressors.
The great thing is, we use all of these ingredients in our body butters.
Why Shea Butter Is a Must-Have for Sensitive Dry Skin?
Shea body butter is the ultimate solution for anyone with extremely dry, rough or sensitive skin. Shea butter contains unique fatty acids such as oleic acid and stearic acid, along with a rich mix of vitamins. It provides intensive support for healing cracks, flakes, redness, irritation or itchy skin. The antioxidants help neutralize free radicals, offering anti-aging benefits, while the deep hydration locks moisture into the skin. For elbows, knees, heels, hands and even the face (for dry or sensitive skin), shea body butter is a guaranteed remedy. With regular use, users report an average of 8 to 12 hours of hydration and a noticeable reduction in flakiness, red spots and tightness.
